The Ministry of Defense of Uzbekistan team won the III International Sniper Competition held in South Korea. The Uzbek team secured first place in the final standings, scoring 678.4 points, which allowed them to surpass the teams from Vietnam and Turkey.
Competition Details
The event took place from September 3 to 10 in the city of Gwangju, located in Gyeonggi Province. The tournament was organized by the Command of Special Operations Forces of the Republic of Korea Army. This marked the third participation for the Uzbek delegation in this competition.
This year, 28 sniper teams participated, representing eight different countries. Participants included South Korea, Uzbekistan, Vietnam, UAE, Turkey, Cambodia, and Kazakhstan.
The competition program included 20 tactical and shooting stages, conducted both day and night. The conditions for completing the tasks constantly changed depending on the situation, as exercises were held in urban, mountainous, and forested terrain. Athletes used pistols, automatic rifles, and sniper weapons, hitting targets at various distances.
The organizers made changes to the format, ensuring that no special shooting exercise repeated the tasks from the previous year. Furthermore, information about the conditions of each stage was disclosed immediately before its start.
One of the most challenging tests involved moving and flying targets. Since drones accounted for 40% of the total targets, participants needed to react quickly to changing situations and operate under intense psychological pressure.
As a result, the Uzbekistan national team scored 678.4 points and topped the list of 13 foreign teams. The second place was taken by the Vietnamese team with a score of 666.6 points, and third place was awarded to Turkey with 471.1 points.
This victory is the second consecutive one for the Uzbek team. It should be noted that in 2024 they finished second, and in 2025 they managed to win the championship title for the first time.
