For example, if the only reply to the question «Did you read my message?» is «…», it might indicate irritation, discomfort, or a lack of words. Similarly, a friend's phrase, «I didn't tell anyone your secret…», might prompt the recipient to ponder the hidden content.
In Gen Z chats, «…» is often used to demonstrate frustration or dissatisfaction. If only «…» follows a long message from the interlocutor, it can create the impression that they are unhappy with what was said. For instance, if you write: «I was late again today, sorry!», and the reply is «…», it could mean «What should I say now?», «You were late again?», or «I am angry with you».
