Congressman Shashie Tarur joined this trend by sharing his retro look with his followers. He posted a video on Instagram featuring several AI-generated images showing him in 1980s style. His post received a wide response from users, many of whom highly praised his retro style.
Sharing the reel, Tarur wrote: 'It seems like the eighties have returned thanks to AI. I decided to be part of this old-school trend too.' This is not the first time Shashie Tarur has participated in viral AI trends; previously in September 2025, he took part in the 'Hug My Younger Self' trend, where AI created an image of him at age 22. Also in March 2025, Tarur shared an AI-generated photo of himself in a style inspired by Studio Ghibli.

The Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, Piyush Goyal, also became a participant in this trend. He shared an AI-generated image of himself wearing a grey suit, white shirt, and aviator glasses. The photo resembles an old studio portrait. Goyal captioned the picture: 'Matching the vibe of the 80s trend.' The features of the old times are clearly visible in his picture.
Minister of Parliamentary Affairs, Kiran Rijiju, also published his photo as part of the 80s trend. He is shown wearing glasses, a blazer, and an unbuttoned shirt, posing next to a car. Rijiju jokingly noted: 'Why is everyone returning to the 80s vibe? They forced me to go back to 80s memories too.'
