Apple has announced its first foldable smartphone, the iPhone Duo, which features a completely new design and innovative technologies. Previously, this device might have been called 'iPhone Fold' or 'iPhone Ultra.'

The iPhone Duo body is made of fifth-grade titanium and protected by a ceramic shield on the back panel. The front panel is equipped with 'Ceramic Shield 2,' which offers three times better scratch resistance compared to the previous generation. Additionally, the device has an IP68 rating, guaranteeing protection against splashes, water, and dust.
The phone's hinge is designed with over 100 components to ensure smooth opening and closing of the display and support for the central screen. When unfolded, it displays a large internal screen measuring 7.6 inches, making content viewing, gaming, and multitasking very enjoyable.
The closed external display measures 5.4 inches and displays 90 percent of the screen area of the iPhone 18 Pro in a compact format suitable for pocket carrying. Both displays use the same aspect ratio, ensuring proportional content scaling and visual continuity.
Throughout this year, the iPhone Duo will support Apple Pencil with a USB-C connector. The device's camera system has been upgraded and includes a new 48MP Fusion main lens. Users can also zoom in on objects using an integrated 2x optical telephoto lens. The 48MP Ultra Wide camera is identical to that used in the iPhone 18 Pro models.
An additional camera is located beneath the internal screen, which activates when the iPhone Duo is open or placed on a surface for hands-free calls. The Smart Take feature allows users not to miss a shooting moment, even when behind the shutter or rushing with a timer. AI models running locally on the A20 Pro processor analyze the scene in real-time and automatically take pictures when subjects pose.
Users can take selfies using high-resolution rear cameras and preview the shot on the external display. The Duo Preview feature displays a live preview on the external screen, helping to model poses, check composition, and guide the shot.
The iPhone Duo is equipped with an advanced thermal regulation system, including a specially designed vapor chamber, as well as a dual-battery architecture to ensure all-day operation. The phone will be available in the UAE in two colors: Star White and Night Sky. The starting price is Dh8,499.
Pre-orders in the UAE will begin on Friday, October 16th, and general sales of the phone will start on Friday, October 23rd.
