Although basic iOS 27 is available for devices starting from the iPhone 11, the full functionality of the new Siri requires powerful hardware, being compatible with the iPhone 15 Pro line and later, and iPads (Pro, Air, and mini) equipped with the M1 chip or higher.

What changes with the arrival of Siri AI?

Dedicated App: Siri now has a dedicated application on both the iPhone and the iPad. This app stores conversation history, allows pinning interactions, and enables starting a dialogue on one device and continuing it on another.
Context Understanding: The artificial intelligence can locate information in various areas through simple commands, such as retrieving old travel photos, searching for messages in the Mail inbox, or checking notes in Notes.
Siri Mode in Camera: Integrated into the camera app, this feature analyzes objects in real time, allowing identification of food nutritional value, translating signs, or clarifying environmental doubts with a simple tap.
Writing Assistance in Any App: The AI generates drafts and adapts suggestions to the user's specific style in emails and messages.
Voice Personalization: System settings allow users to customize the assistant's speaking pace, tone, expressiveness, and even accent.
Partnership with Google and Restrictions
Apple has established a collaboration with Google, utilizing Gemini models to train the assistant. For complex queries that rely on Apple's cloud servers, there will be daily usage quotas. Users requiring a higher volume of processing must subscribe to paid iCloud+ plans.
Initially, Siri AI will only function in English. Expansion to other languages, including Portuguese, Spanish, French, Japanese, and Korean, is planned for October of this year.
Which devices are compatible with Siri AI?
Access to the new assistant requires high-capacity processors. For this reason, Siri AI is limited to a specific selection of devices:
iPhones: Models belonging to the iPhone 15 Pro line (released in 2023) and subsequent ones.
iPads: iPad Pro and iPad Air models equipped with the M1 chip or higher, as well as the latest iPad mini.
Which iPhones will receive iOS 27?
Apple also confirmed that iOS 27, without the Siri AI functionality, will be available for all iPhones starting from the iPhone 11 model, also covering the second-generation iPhone SE or later. It is expected that macOS 27 and watchOS 27 will also be launched on September 14.
