Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan strengthen cooperation in the field of social protection

Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan have reached an agreement to strengthen interaction in the field of social protection and develop practical ties between relevant institutions of both countries.

Social Protection

The National Agency for Social Protection held a meeting where Director Mansurbek Olloyarov met with the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Uzbekistan, Yerali Tugzhanov. The parties discussed current directions of joint work, experience exchange, and opportunities to expand general cooperation.

Representatives of Uzbekistan presented to Kazakhstan methods for forming a family-oriented social protection model. Special attention was paid to supporting people while maintaining their connection with family and community, as well as the role of the mahalla in organizing social assistance.

Participants also paid significant attention to exchanging experience in providing assistance to people with disabilities and other groups in need of social protection. It was proposed to consider holding expert meetings and organizing mutual visits for closer exchange of practices and experience.

Following the negotiations, the parties agreed to continue strengthening the partnership between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan in the field of social protection, moving their cooperation to a more systematic basis.

Uzbekistan and Serbia signed a document on cooperation in the field of labor health and safety during the visit of Uzbekistan's President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Serbia.

Special attention will be paid to studying international experience and modern approaches to ensuring workplace safety, after which the most effective solutions will be practically applied.

For the State Labor Inspectorate of Uzbekistan, international partnership in this area is of great importance for improving mechanisms for monitoring compliance with labor health and safety requirements and preventing violations. Exchanging experiences with foreign partners will help study existing methodologies and assess the potential for their implementation in Uzbekistan. Protecting the lives and health of workers is one of the priorities of Uzbekistan's state labor policy.
