A new edition of the World Gourmet Festival will take place in Bangkok—a traditional high-cuisine event scheduled from September 29 to October 4 at the Anantara Siam Bangkok Hotel. The festival will gather chefs from around the world whose combined achievements include nearly 30 Michelin stars.
Since its inception in 2000, the event is reaching its 26th iteration under the theme 'The World of Flavours.' The program includes collaborative works between the recognized chefs, as well as opportunities to sample tasting menus, full dinners, and even combine hotel stays with participation in various events.
Chefs from all over the world will gather in the halls of the Anantara Siam Bangkok Hotel. Confirmed guests include Josiah Citrin from the Californian restaurant Mélisse, Julian Royer from Odette in Singapore, Álvaro Clavijo, who runs El Chato in the capital of Colombia, and Georgiana Viou from Benin, who became the first Black chef to receive a Michelin star in France.
The cuisine of the host country will be represented by Bo Songvisava and Dylan Jones from the Thai restaurant Bo.Lan. In addition to main dinners and tastings, live culinary demonstrations, as well as tea parties and brunches on the final day of the festival, are planned.
The program also includes panel discussions to discuss global trends in gastronomy and the first Young Chef’s Award competition, where promising young talents from Thailand will be judged by an international jury.
The full schedule and list of all participants are available on the official event website. Bookings are made directly through the site, with prices varying depending on the chosen program format and time of purchase. Sales, which began in July, are still running under the 'early bird' scheme with discounts.
For example, participation in 'Gourmet Encounter,' which is a collaboration of different chefs, costs from 16,582 baht per person (equivalent to approximately 2,600 rubles). Attending the tea party, which will take place from October 1 to 3 under the guidance of chef Cho Eunjung from Honeybee Seoul, starts from 1,036 baht (about 165 rubles). Other participation options can be found via the link—some of which are already sold out.
