The Children's Ombudsman of Uzbekistan organized another meeting with citizens to review issues related to the protection of the rights and interests of minors. During the reception, various appeals concerning guardianship, access to education, and ensuring children's safety were examined.
Citizens' Appeals
Among the received appeals was a situation where the grandmother of two children approached the ombudsman. These children are under the father's guardianship following the mother's death, but the father does not participate in their upbringing or fulfill his parental duties, while the younger child requires special care and specialized education.
A statement was also registered from a father who insisted on receiving the children after a divorce and requested the involvement of a representative of the Children's Ombudsman in the court proceedings.
Furthermore, the ombudsman reviewed a request regarding the restoration of a right to education for a child of an Uzbek citizen residing in Russia who is not ensuring their school attendance.
In another situation, a parent reported harm to their child's health at a kindergarten and requested assistance in obtaining video recordings from surveillance cameras, as well as holding the responsible parties accountable.
For all identified facts, the Children's Ombudsman has begun a comprehensive study of the circumstances within the scope of her authority to provide practical support and ensure the protection of children's rights.
