DStv is implementing significant changes to its package structure in South Africa, introducing five new streaming service options with prices ranging from R99 to R799 per month. These new packages will take effect on September 17, replacing the existing system as MultiChoice responds to changing consumer habits and customer needs.
The update was announced on Monday during a press conference held at MultiChoice City in Randburg. Wellington Ngwepe, the head of MultiChoice (Pty) Ltd., addressed the media.
Subscribers can choose one of the five available packages: Starter for R99 per month, which includes 85 channels; Select for R299 per month with 100 channels; Sports for R399 per month, offering 115 channels; Movies & Series for R500 per month with 115 channels; and Premium for R799 per month, providing 130 channels.
The changes are not limited to packages. DStv is also introducing new branded channels, including Wethu+, SuperSport Kickoff, SuperSport Football Plus, M-Net Movies+, Stars, and Legends. Ngwepe emphasized that in addition to package changes, more engaging and new content will be part of MultiChoice's overall strategy aimed at delivering value to customers.
