The Jeep Avenger was launched by Stellantis as a highlight in the SUV market in 2026. This entry-level model aims to enrich the group's lineup, competing in a price range shared with vehicles such as the Fiat Pulse, Fiat Fastback, Citroën Basalt, Peugeot 2008, and Jeep Renegade.
For those interested in the new Jeep Avenger but who are also evaluating its direct competitors, five aspects where the new vehicle excels have been highlighted, which may aid in the purchasing decision.
Safety and Feature Comparison
The Jeep Avenger offers six airbags and ADAS features across its entire line. The Altitude version, priced at R$ 119,990, already includes autonomous emergency braking, lane keep assist, license plate reader, and automatic high beam.
The top-of-the-line Limited version, costing R$ 145,990, adds Level 2 adaptive cruise control, lane centering, and full LED matrix headlights. This set of equipment is more complete than that of its larger sibling, the Renegade, which has features similar to the higher-end versions of the Fiat Fastback and Pulse, such as autonomous emergency braking limited to car detection, lane keep assist, and automatic high beam.
The Peugeot 2008 also presents an ADAS package similar to that of the Jeep Renegade, but this is only available in the GT version, as are the six airbags. In contrast, the Citroën Basalt does not feature active safety assistants or curtain airbags. Therefore, for those who value safety, the Avenger presents itself as the most complete.
Interior Finish Quality
Another highlight of the Jeep Avenger is its superior finish compared to the Renegade. This entry-level SUV features soft-to-the-touch materials on the front doors and vinyl upholstery in the central dashboard area.
Although the Renegade already had soft-touch finishes on the doors and dashboard, it lost the first feature in the 2022 facelift, and the second was removed in the 2027 update. The Fiat models, on the other hand, received a greater amount of fabric on the doors in the 2026 line and include vinyl on the dashboard, although their surfaces are made of rigid plastic.
The Basalt incorporated vinyl on the dashboard to reduce the simple appearance of the interior. Curiously, the Peugeot 2008, despite having a higher price, keeps its entire interior in rigid plastic.
Dimensions and Electrification
Recognizing that Brazilians often choose cars based on space, the Avenger has a rear seat space considered limited. However, there are consumers who prefer smaller vehicles due to ease of maneuvering in urban environments, agility in the city, or physical garage restrictions.
With a length of 4.08 meters and a width of 1.77 meters, the Jeep Avenger can fully satisfy those who prefer compact models, especially considering the current difficulty in finding a well-equipped compact car.
Another aspect that may generate debate is Stellantis's 12-volt mild hybrid system. This is the most basic form of electrification and provides little perceptible gains in consumption or performance. However, its advantage lies in the possibility of exemption or discount on IPVA in certain states and exemption from vehicle rotation in the city of São Paulo (SP). Mechanically, the Avenger's MHEV system requires no extra maintenance; the only associated cost is the EFB type lead-acid battery.
Market Positioning
In Brazil, Jeep is seen as an aspirational brand. Its reputation was established in the 1990s with the luxurious Grand Cherokee, which was chosen by various celebrities.
The Avenger represents Jeep's entry point, a role previously played by the Renegade. As a recent launch, it is expected to gain even more prominence on Brazilian streets, particularly with its debut green paint.
