Bragança Paulista, recognized as the National Capital of Artisan Sausage, is celebrating an important moment for its local delicacy during the first two weekends of September with the 14th edition of the Sausage Festival. This event offers free entry and allows visitors to better learn about the region's flavors and culture.
Commercial Expansion of Bragança Sausage
This year's festivities also signal a significant advance for local producers, as the city's emblematic sausage obtained a seal that equates the Municipal Inspection Service (SIM) with the Brazilian System of Inspection of Animal Origin Products (Sisbi). This certification allows Bragança sausage to be legally marketed throughout the national territory, bringing the product, already appreciated by Paulistanos, to more distant locations.
Manufacturers express the expectation of tripling the production of the delicacy in the coming years, driven by obtaining this seal. Consequently, the theme chosen for the 2026 festival is 'From Bragança to Brazil.' The event has already held a first phase from September 4th to 7th and now continues on the closing weekend, scheduled for September 11th to 13th.
Gastronomy and Attractions of the Festival
The sausage remains the central point of the festival, appearing in various culinary preparations. The dishes explore global gastronomic influences, including the Bragança sausage shawarma, which has Syrian references, and potato gnocchi with Bragança sausage ragu, reminiscent of the Italian tradition present in Paulistano cuisine. Other options served include yakisoba, stroganoff, and a version of caipira paella.
In addition to gastronomy, the festival brings together 40 exhibitors representing various sectors, offering everything from artisanal sweets and souvenirs to household utensils. The program also includes a vehicle fair and more than 20 musical performances. For 2026, there will also be a free space for pets and guaranteed accessibility throughout the route, from the entrance to restrooms, food court, and exhibitor area.
Families have entertainment options, such as a Kids Area with inflatable toys, accessible all day for an exclusive wristband (costing R$ 50). The Electronic Park features classic amusement park attractions, such as a Ferris wheel and Viking boat (individual ticket for R$ 15). The Sausage Carriage ride, which lasts 20 minutes and features children's characters, transports visitors from the festival park to Lake Taboão (R$ 25 per person).

The second weekend of the festival will take place from September 11th to 13th, 2026. On Friday, operating hours will be from 6 PM to 10 PM, while on Saturday and Sunday, extended hours will be from 10 AM to 10 PM. The event location is Posto de Monta, located at Alameda Quinze de Dezembro, nº 2, in Vila Municipal, in Bragança Paulista – SP.
