Spanish Barceló Hotel Group is considering hotel construction projects in Uzbekistan

The Spanish hotel company Barceló Hotel Group is studying opportunities for implementing projects in Uzbekistan, including the construction of four- and five-star hotels. The discussion took place during a meeting between Sukhrobjon Bobokalnov, Deputy Chairman of the Tourism Committee of Uzbekistan, and the company's delegation led by CEO Raúl González.

The parties discussed the need for accelerated development of the tourism industry, expansion of hotel infrastructure, and attracting international hotel brands to Uzbekistan. Special attention was paid to opportunities for foreign investment in the tourism sector.

Representatives of Barceló Hotel Group received information about the measures Uzbekistan is taking to support the hotel business, as well as the development of tourist zones and clusters and the conditions created for foreign investors.

During the negotiations, the Spanish firm expressed interest in entering the Uzbek market. In particular, the possibility of building four- and five-star facilities that would subsequently be managed by Barceló Hotel Group was discussed. Furthermore, potential joint work on managing existing tourist sites, as well as the company's participation in their modernization and further development according to international standards, could arise.

Following the meeting, an agreement was reached that Barceló Hotel Group specialists will visit Uzbekistan. They will inspect promising tourist sites and investment projects, after which the possibility of implementing hotel projects with the participation of this company will be considered.

Potential areas for such projects have been named Tashkent, Samarkand, Bukhara, Khiva, and other tourist regions of Uzbekistan.
