British medical specialists documented a case of thermal erythema in a young man who was studying from home and regularly used a laptop placed on his stomach for eight hours daily.
Doctors faced difficulties in making a diagnosis over several weeks because the boy's parents did not suspect a connection between this method of using the laptop and the skin damage on his abdomen.
This clinical case was presented in the publication BMJ Case Reports.
