Zaideep Akhalat and Akshay Khanna appear in 'Drishyam 3'; reasons for actor replacement discussed

With the release of the trailer for 'Drishyam: The Conclusion,' viewers will once again face the difficulties in Vijay Salgaonkar's life, as the events of October 2 continue to haunt him. Zaideep Akhalat has appeared in the third part of the film, playing an officer from the Criminal Investigation Department. In the movie, he will be confronting Ajtai.

During the trailer presentation, when Zaideep was asked about Akshay Khanna, rumors arose that he was brought in to replace Akshay Khanna. Akshay Khanna previously played the role of IG Tarun Akhawat in 'Drishyam 2,' and it was initially planned that he would also appear in the third episode. However, it became known that he left the project due to issues related to his fee. Following this, Zaideep was cast.

Nevertheless, Zaideep emphasized that his role is not related to replacing Akshay. He stated that upon hearing the story, he did not assume that his character would replace Akshay. He noted that one story ends, and another character is introduced in its place, and he does not feel pressured to conform to the image of another hero. His character develops along its own trajectory.

According to media reports, Akshay Khanna declined to participate in 'Drishyam 3' because he demanded a fee of 21 crore after the success of the films 'Dhurandar' and 'Chawa.' It was also reported that he required a wig for his look. Since the creators disliked his demands, negotiations were unsuccessful, and Akshay left the film.

As for 'Drishyam 3' itself, the appearance of Zaideep's character impressed the public. Prakash Raja's participation is also announced in the film. The release of the picture is scheduled for October 2 of this year.

Ajay Devgn will conclude the story in 'Drishyam: The End,' and the finale will differ from Mohanlal's film

The release of the trailer for 'Drishyam: The End' generated significant excitement among fans. The trailer showed that the plot has become more intense and conflict-ridden this time. Tabbu has returned to avenge her son's death, while Jaydip Ahlawat opposes Vijay Salgaonkar, played by Ajay Devgn.

During the trailer presentation, Ajay Devgn stated that 'Drishyam 3' is not just another sequel for him, but the final part of this story. He noted that after the second part, he himself was unsure if a third episode would even be made.

According to Ajay, the main difficulty in films like 'Drishyam' is that it is impossible to prepare the plot for the second part while shooting the first. The narrative must continue exactly from where the previous film ended, constantly introducing new twists and maintaining audience interest. It is difficult to show something new and equally captivating within the framework of the same story.

Ajay revealed that after this, writer-director Abhishek worked with the team of screenwriters for about two and a half years on the script. When the script was ready, he felt that the story could be concluded magnificently, and that is when he decided he did not want to drag it out.

He believes that the story has reached its peak, and trying to extend it purely for the sake of the franchise would be wrong. Ajay highly praised Abhishek's work on the script, expressing confidence that the final plot will please the audience.

The creators decided to develop the story not only for the third installment of the franchise but also to give 'Drishyam' a complete conclusion.

The plot differs from Mohanlal's film

Another topic actively discussed around the film is the similarity between Mohanlal's Malayalam franchise and Ajay Devgn's Hindi franchise. To this question, Ajay gave a clear answer: the plot of his 'Drishyam 3' is completely different from Mohanlal's 'Drishyam 3.' He specified that the first part of his franchise was inspired by Mohanlal's film, but the plot of the third part was written entirely separately. It is not simply an adaptation of the Malayalam version with some changes; the entire story is unique.

This fact generates particular interest among fans, as tension grows regarding the direction the finale of both movies and the story of Vijay Salgaonkar will take.

Ajay's desire to see Mohanlal's film

Ajay Devgn also made a special statement to Mohanlal. He sincerely hopes that Mohanlal will watch his film. Ajay mentioned that he would be very happy to receive feedback from Mohanlal after watching, and receiving approval from this Malayalam star would be a special moment for him.

Although the story began under the influence of Mohanlal's film, Ajay wants the original Malayalam actor himself to watch the third part of the Hindi version and share his opinion.

Tabbu's revenge

Returning to the trailer, which made the plot even more dramatic, Tabbu plays Mira Deshmukh again. However, this time she faces not only old issues but also the pain of her son's death and the desire for revenge. The presence of Jaydip Ahlawat complicates the situation, as he is portrayed in the trailer as an opponent of Ajay Devgn.

Questions arise: how will Vijay Salgaonkar be able to protect his family this time? Will Tabbu be able to uncover the secret that Vijay kept for years? And most importantly—will the entire structure created by Vijay collapse?

Answers to these questions will be revealed to audiences in cinemas on October 2.
