ABC has officially denied circulating rumors that the talk show Jimmy Kimmel Live! is coming to an end. Despite prevailing speculation, media outlets had reported that the program, currently in its 24th season, might be the last.
An ABC representative, speaking to The Hill, stated that this information is unreliable and that any reports regarding the show's future are purely speculative.
Previously, last September, the show was temporarily removed from ABC's broadcast schedule following Kimmel's comments regarding a tragic shooting incident involving conservative commentator Charlie Kirk. At that time, it was reported that during a monologue, Kimmel suggested that Tyler Robinson, accused of fatally shooting Kirk at a university in Utah, was connected to the controversial Make America Great Again (MAGA) movement.
Furthermore, Kimmel, who has long criticized U.S. President Donald Trump, faced negative backlash for a joke where he compared First Lady Melania Trump to a 'waiting widow,' which occurred a few days before the alleged third attempt on Trump's life.
In response to Kimmel's remarks, Melania Trump stated that his monologue was not comedy. She posted on X, noting: 'Kimmel's malicious and violent rhetoric intends to divide our country. His words erode and deepen the political sickness within America.'
Jimmy Kimmel has hosted this show since its launch in 2003, and his contract has been extended until 2027.
