A very large python was spotted in a posh area of Chitrakoot in Uttar Pradesh, causing a large crowd of people to gather nearby. Initially, a passerby saw this giant python sitting near a drain and was shocked. Soon, other people also learned about the incident and started gathering.
People took out their mobile phones to take pictures and videos of the python, and many people went very close to the snake. The estimated length of the python is said to be around 10 to 15 feet. The curiosity among the people upon seeing this giant creature was so high that a chaotic situation arose at the spot. Local residents immediately informed the police.
The police team reached the scene and first moved the people away from the python to a safe distance. After this, the Forest Department was informed. Upon receiving the information, the rescue team of the Forest Department and the ranger of the Kavi area arrived at the spot. The team started an operation to safely catch the python with the help of local people.
The python was caught with great caution, and after the rescue work was completed, it was safely removed from there and released in a safe place in the forest. People present at the scene watched this entire rescue process carefully.
According to DFO Pratyush Kumar Katiyar of Chitrakoot, the Forest Department had received information about the python emerging, after which the rescue team was immediately sent to the spot. The DFO stated that it was an adult Indian Rock Python and its length was approximately 10 to 15 feet. The Forest Department believes that this species is generally found in forests.
The Forest Department estimates that due to recent rain and floods, this python might have come out of its natural habitat and reached the residential area. Currently, the Forest Department team has successfully rescued the python and released it back into its natural environment, i.e., the forest.
