Snapchat's Chief Business Officer (CBO), Ajit Mohan, announced on Wednesday his decision to step down after four years with the company.
In a LinkedIn post, Mohan stated that he will be replaced by Ronan Harris, who currently serves as the President of Europe, Middle East, and Asia (EMEA) markets at Snap.
The reason for Mohan's departure is his plans to return to India and spend more time with his family. He will remain at Snap until the end of the current calendar year.
Mohan explained his decision by noting that his family remained in Singapore, and over the past two years, he had made significant trips between New York, Los Angeles, and Singapore, with rare stops in London, Dubai, and Bangalore.
Mohan joined Snap four years ago, moving from Facebook, and was promoted to CBO last February. Initially, he worked at Snap as the President of the Asia-Pacific region.
In his LinkedIn message on Wednesday, Mohan noted that upon his arrival, the company set a goal to fully restore Snap's advertising business. This included retooling the advertising platform for greater efficiency, making direct response the core of the business, and demonstrating to advertisers that the platform, which reaches nearly a billion users, can deliver real and measurable results. He emphasized that the progress made in recent years has been enormous.
Before his four-year tenure at Snap, Mohan held the position of Vice President and Managing Director at Facebook India. Previously, he worked at Hotstar as CEO.
