Testing has begun in Uzbekistan for the stable token HUMO, which will be used as a means of payment. This token is issued backed by government securities, and its use for paying for goods and services is currently in the testing phase.
According to a statement from the press service of the National Agency for Advanced Projects (ILMA), the stable token HUMO, equivalent to 1 sum, is being issued for testing as a payment instrument. This experimental project is being implemented in collaboration with the Central Bank.
The token is guaranteed by government securities. Furthermore, the company 'Humo Digital' MCHJ was registered as a participant in a special legal regime for organizing the circulation of stable tokens based on the agency's order.
The project tests the mechanisms for issuing, circulating, and burning the stable token HUMO. It is planned that during the trials, the HUMO token will be used as an official means of payment in Uzbekistan, as well as in accounting for settlements for goods, works, and services. More than twenty business entities are planned to participate in the project.
To maintain records, participants are integrating banking, processing, and blockchain infrastructure. Among the project partners is 'Asterium' AJ, which possesses the relevant licenses for operating as a crypto-custodian, crypto exchange, and crypto store, as well as banks and other business entities.
This experimental project is planned to last up to three years.
