Police announced the resolution of the murder case of Irshad Alam, known as Guddu Badshah, which occurred on July 28 in the Laal Kuan area of Pul Prahladpur, Delhi. Consequently, the case was registered by the South East Delhi police, who arrested eight suspects.
During the investigation, law enforcement agencies conducted an inter-state operation spanning approximately 12 thousand kilometers, covering territories in Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Telangana, and Tamil Nadu.
According to police data, information about a shooting incident in Laal Kuan, Pul Prahladpur, was received on July 28. When the police team arrived, it was discovered that Irshad Alam had been killed by gunfire, and M. Farooq was wounded by a bullet. The crime and forensic teams examined the scene, collecting blood-stained items, empty and live casings, as well as metal projectiles for examination.
Initially, Farooq claimed that he himself was a victim of the incident. However, after detailed interrogation, the police found numerous contradictions in his account. Subsequently, the investigation continued using CDR data (call records), technical surveillance, field intelligence, and other evidence. The police established signs of Farooq's involvement in the conspiracy, leading to his arrest on the day of the crime, July 28.
The investigation revealed that the murder was committed due to long-standing enmity. This alleged hostility existed between the deceased Guddu Badshah and the suspects Shamshad and Ashfaq, whose roots are reportedly linked to their native village in Supaul, Bihar. The police claim that the suspects planned the murder of Guddu. He was invited from Bihar to Delhi under the pretext of settling an old dispute, and they agreed to meet.
According to the police version, the meeting, allegedly organized to reach an agreement, actually turned into a trap. Guddu Badshah was brought to a rented warehouse in Laal Kuan, where he was allegedly shot. The investigation also uncovered that various individuals involved in the conspiracy were assigned different roles: planning, coordination, transportation arrangement, accommodation provision, carrying out the attack, and evidence concealment.
In this case, the police have detained a total of eight suspects. Among them are: M. Farooq (27 years old) from Pul Prahladpur, Delhi; Mon Aftab from Supaul, Bihar; M. Irfan (23 years old) from Sahibabad, Uttar Pradesh; and M. Shamshad (28 years old) from Supaul, Bihar. Additionally, M. Ashfaq (23 years old), M. Rahmatullah alias Chhotu (22 years old), and M. Shoaib Akhtar, all from Supaul, Bihar, have been detained. The eighth suspect is Aman Yadav (25 years old) from Laal Kuan, Pul Prahladpur, Delhi.
According to police information, Shamshad and Ashfaq have criminal backgrounds. It is alleged that they are involved in a murder case registered in Supaul, Bihar. The police continue to strengthen the evidentiary basis regarding the role and connections of these suspects.
Police data indicates that Farooq gained the trust of the deceased. He then led Guddu to a rented premises under the guise of resolving a dispute and played a role in coordinating the actions of other suspects. After the incident, he attempted to portray himself as an injured and innocent victim. However, following interrogations and technical checks, the police doubted his version.
M. Aftab is accused of assisting other suspects in coordinating and facilitating the movement and gathering of the attackers. The police reported that he was apprehended with the help of local police in Tripura, Tamil Nadu. Irfan is accused of providing shelter and logistical support to the suspects after the crime, as well as concealing illegal weapons and ammunition. Upon his confession, an illegal pistol, an extra magazine, and live ammunition were seized.
According to the investigation, Shamshad was one of the key participants in the conspiracy. The police note that he maintained contact with other suspects through internet platforms for communication. Verification of his digital and communication links is ongoing. Ashfaq is also accused of participating in contacts with other alleged conspirators, as well as in the planning and coordination of the murder.
Rahmatullah alias Chhotu is accused of belonging to the team that carried out the attack. The police also report that after the incident, he helped conceal or destroy evidence. Shoaib Akhtar is charged with arriving in Delhi from Tamil Nadu along with members of the alleged attacking group and subsequently remaining in contact with other suspects.
Aman Yadav, according to the police, provided assistance to the suspects with accommodation and other logistical needs in the Laal Kuan area. The investigation revealed that he joined the conspiracy in exchange for financial gain. The police also reported that on the night of the crime, he helped Aftab, Rahmatullah, and Shoaib travel to the location on his motorcycle and allegedly participated in the shooting.
The police state that attempts are ongoing to seize two other illegal weapons and property related to another case, which Aman Yadav and Farooq allegedly concealed. The investigative agency will confiscate weapons and other items in accordance with legal procedure.
