Logitech G launches G316 X 98 mechanical keyboard in Brazil focusing on cost-benefit and advanced features

The Redmi 17 5G, manufactured by the Chinese company Xiaomi, has received approval from Anatel for commercialization in Brazil. This smartphone, identified by model code 26062RN92G, had its homologation certificate issued on Monday, August 31st, according to information obtained by Tecnoblog.

The technical documentation indicates that the device will use the BM7H battery, which is still awaiting certification from the regulatory agency, but has a capacity of 7,500 mAh. Furthermore, the model's packaging will include a 45-Watt charger.

Although the Redmi 17 5G was launched internationally at the beginning of August, its basic specifications show some reductions compared to the previous model. The processor used is the Snapdragon 4 Gen 5, which, despite being slightly faster on paper, belongs to a lower series than the Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 found in the previous version.

The modifications were not limited to the processor; the IPS screen was downgraded from 1080p to 720p, and the refresh rate decreased from 144 Hz to 120 Hz. The RAM also saw cuts, with the largest available option being 6 GB, compared to the predecessor's 8 GB. As compensation for these changes, the battery was increased and the speakers were configured as stereo.

The Redmi Note 17 4G also received homologation, with model 26012RN62L approved by Anatel on August 17th. Like the Redmi 17 5G, this model also underwent adjustments to its technical sheet.

The Redmi Note 17 4G replaces the previous MediaTek Helio G100 Ultra with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 6s 4G Gen 2. Although the Snapdragon has a higher frequency, it is considered an inferior SoC due to the use of outdated architecture cores. The cameras lost resolution, and there were memory cuts, as the entry-level model starts at 4 GB of RAM and the 512 GB internal storage option was removed.

In contrast, this model's battery increased to 7,700 mAh, maintaining the 45-Watt charging. This battery uses the same silicon-carbon anodes found in its 5G sibling, which was also approved by Anatel.

Currently, there is no forecast for when Xiaomi or its representative in Brazil, DL, will launch these new devices in the national market. The Redmi 17 5G still needs to obtain its battery certification, which prevents its commercialization at this time.

For comparison, the Redmi Note 15 line arrived in Brazil in January with prices starting from R$ 2,799, but the current entry-level model can be found for less than half that price. Both models will be imported from China, which tends to keep official prices high, as they will not benefit from tax incentives granted to locally assembled competitors.

The e-commerce and cloud computing giant, Amazon, appears to be preparing the launch of new devices. Documentation obtained by Tecnoblog indicates that Amazon plans new offerings for the Echo and potentially the Kindle lines.

One of the items, identified by the code LP38MA, received certification on Tuesday, August 25th. This device features Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth connectivity, in addition to an internal rechargeable battery via a USB port, whose capacity was not disclosed. These specifications are compatible with tablets, such as the Fire Tablet, or with a Kindle.

A clue regarding this product's origin lies in its manufacturing units; one of them is Nanchang Qinsheng Electronic Technology Co., Ltd., located in the Chinese province of Jiangxi, a company that currently manufactures the Kindle Paperwhite.

Another Amazon certification with Anatel concerns models Z4P32D and T3R8L5. Since they were certified together, it is presumed they have similar characteristics, including Bluetooth and Wi-Fi 5, and both charge via USB-C. The specifications also point towards a Kindle or Fire Tablet.

Both models (Z4P32D and T3R8L5) share the same factory, Nanchang Qinsheng Electronic Technology Co., Ltd., suggesting they are new versions of the Kindle. None of the three mentioned models supports wireless charging, which eliminates the possibility of a Signature edition launch.

The main candidate for renewal would be the basic Kindle model, launched in 2022 and which had brighter LEDs in 2024, while keeping the rest of the technical specifications unchanged. However, due to two distinct approvals, there is a possibility that a second Kindle model could be introduced.

In addition to potential Kindles, Amazon is developing a new Echo, with model code PE4Z26, which was certified by Anatel in April. This device features advanced connectivity, including Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth, Zigbee/802.15, and even FMCW (Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave radar), which might be the same used in the Echo Dot Max for presence detection.

The most notable aspect of the new Echo is its design, which at first glance resembles an Echo Max or Studio equipped with a camera. An interesting detail is the apparent presence of an RJ45 port on the back, which would indicate support for wired Ethernet—an uncommon feature in Echo devices. However, it cannot be ruled out that this connection is intended for diagnostics or accessories, as is already the case with certain line models.

On the base of the device, besides logos and certification numbers, the PE4Z26 has a thread that allows it to be mounted on camera stands or tripods, a feature present in the Echo Studio and in previous generations, such as the 3rd generation Echo.

The product requires a robust power supply: the PA37BR model provides 30 Volts and 1.66 Amperes, totaling almost 50 Watts. Although the current Echo Studio uses a similar power supply, the new device is seen in the certification photos with a braided cable, suggesting a different model.

It is not unprecedented for Amazon to try incorporating cameras into an Echo product without a screen; the Echo Look was launched in 2017 with the goal of assisting in visual selection but was discontinued three years later, in 2020.

Amazon may present more launches: in the United States, a new remote control, possibly intended for Fire TV Sticks, received certification from the FCC regulatory agency, as reported by the AFTVNews website. The same portal also reported the certification of an item called 'Puck' (disc), with model code M2H74R. There is anticipation that Amazon will hold an event to announce new products at the end of September, following last year's pattern.
