The 38th edition of the International Film Festival for Children and Youth will take place in Isfahan. The organizers plan to conduct a series of cultural, educational, and cinematic events aimed at teenagers and children.
Isfahan to Host the 38th International Film Festival for Children and Youth
The festival will be jointly organized by the Farabi Film Foundation and the Municipality of Isfahan. This was reported by Mehr on Tuesday, who specified that Hamed Jafari will serve as the event's secretary.
Preparations for the event in the central Iranian city were finalized with the signing of a memorandum of understanding. The parties who signed the document included the Governor of Isfahan, Mehdi Jamaliannejad; the Deputy Minister of Culture and head of the film organization, Raed Faridzadeh; the Mayor of Isfahan, Ali Kasemzadeh; and the Director of the Farabi Film Foundation, Hamed Jafari.
The upcoming event is expected to utilize Isfahan's cultural and urban potential to provide children, adolescents, and families with broader opportunities to engage with the world of cinema.
Speaking about the festival, Jamaliannejad noted that Isfahan possesses extensive administrative, social, and cultural capabilities that should be utilized more effectively within the framework of this festival edition. He called for the participation of provincial cultural institutions, artists, and organizations working with children and adolescents, emphasizing the need to create a comprehensive atmosphere both in Isfahan and nationally.
Faridzadeh characterized the festival as one of the long-standing and authoritative regional events dedicated to children's cinema, stating that protecting and enhancing its status is a task that must be seriously undertaken. He added that holding the festival in Isfahan with the support of the city administration and local authorities creates significant potential for a successful event.
Furthermore, Faridzadeh emphasized the necessity of strengthening the festival's national and international standing, using it as a platform for developing children's and youth cinema in Iran.
For his part, Kasemzadeh stated that the Municipality of Isfahan is ready to provide its administrative, cultural, and promotional resources to support the event. He also announced that steps would be taken to ensure the festival has a noticeable presence throughout the city and to use municipal facilities to encourage the participation of children and families.
Hafari reported that the number of submitted works and applications for the festival has increased this year. He expressed hope that the growing interest will lead to the formation of a strong film program for screening during the event.
In addition to film screenings, the festival will present special programs designed to give children and adolescents a more active role. Planned activities for the 38th edition include an Olympic Games for teenagers, educational seminars, and other events focused on the young audience.
According to Jafari, the goal of the festival is not only to showcase films but also to create an environment for discovering young talents, education, and strengthening the connection between the younger generation and cinema.
