Those who wish to participate in the traditional Vesperatas of Diamantina this year must act quickly, as the event known for coloring Quitanda Street will only have six more dates scheduled for 2026, four of which are already sold out.
Due to high demand, the organization decided to make two additional nights available. Although usually reserved for Saturdays, the Vesperata will also take place on two Fridays in October, specifically on the 9th and 16th.
Inspired by the old serenades that filled the nights of Diamantina with music among the colonial mansions, the Vesperata resurfaced as a tourist attraction in the late 1990s, a period when the city was seeking recognition as a UNESCO World Heritage site. Since then, this musical celebration has been elevated to the status of Intangible Heritage of Minas Gerais, a title earned in 2016.
The spectacle transforms Quitanda Street into an open-air stage, where musicians perform and sing from the colonial balconies. Visitors can also settle in at bars and restaurants located on the public street, enjoying Minas Gerais flavors while appreciating the historical art that characterizes this cultural destination, located 300 km from Belo Horizonte.
Annually, the Vesperata spans two or three monthly Saturdays over several months. In 2026, performances have taken place from April 11th until the conclusion of the festivities on October 17th. However, the popularity of the event has made obtaining tickets a challenge; this time, those who arrived later received two extra dates to attend this season.
Besides rushing to secure a spot, it is important to consider the cost: one night at the event in Diamantina costs R$ 625.
Vesperata Diamantina 2026
The last dates for the Vesperata this year are scheduled for September 19th and 26th, as well as October 9th, 10th, 16th, and 17th, with performances always starting at 8 PM (entry is permitted from this time).
