Dutch neurophysiologists conducted a study that established that the volume of gray matter in the brain remains stable during menopause. It was noted that this volume decreases during other phases associated with significant hormonal fluctuations, such as pregnancy and puberty.
This study involved over a thousand subjects, and the results were published in the scientific journal Nature Communications.
