Ashish Nehra stated that taking the role of India's national team coach could lead to divorce from his wife

Former fast bowler for the Indian national team, Ashish Nehra, is known for his humorous style. His work as coach for the 'Gujarat Titans' in the IPL was highly successful, as he played a key role in the team winning the title in the first season.

Recently, when asked about the possibility of becoming the head coach of the Indian national team, his response caused laughter among all present. Nehra jokingly stated that if he accepts the duties of coaching the Indian national team without prior discussion with his wife Rushmi Nehra, it could end in divorce.

These statements were made during the annual CAB awards ceremony in Kolkata, where Nehra arrived before the start of the T20 series between India and Afghanistan, which begins on September 13 in Delhi. When asked if he would like to coach the Indian national team in the future, he smiled and replied that it was difficult to say anything yet, as he first needed to consult the 'high commissioner' of his home, i.e., his wife, otherwise he might get divorced.

Nehra also explained this joke with a more serious reason. He noted that becoming a coach in international cricket means having to spend 8-9 months away from family and constantly traveling. Nehra emphasized that this job is not easy at all. He added that due to constant hustle and pressure at the international level, no one can stay in this position for more than three or four years.

When asked to compare the IPL and international cricket considering his brilliant leadership of 'Gujarat Titans' up to the IPL championship, Nehra openly shared his opinion. He admitted that being the coach of a national team of any country is a much more complex task. Nehra stated that carrying the flag of an entire country and traveling for nine months is something more than just ordinary business. He clarified that when people ask him about working in 'Gujarat', he says it is not a job, but his passion. In Nehra's opinion, although 10 teams participate in the IPL and the competition is high, managing a national team represents a completely different level of responsibility.

When asked if he would ever become the coach of the Indian national team, Nehra replied that it would be a huge honor and pride for him, but he is not planning anything like that yet. Currently, he is satisfied with his current life and work. Gautam Gambhir is currently leading the Indian team.

Rohit Sharma Debuts on Television; BCCI Rules Regarding His Career

Rohit Sharma, known as 'Hitman,' will begin appearing on television screens outside of sports venues. He is preparing for a television debut as the host of the show 'Family Full House.'

The premiere of this show is scheduled for September 19, 2026, and will air on Sony Entertainment Television and Sony LIV channels. Although this new step by Rohit might indicate the approaching end of his cricket career, it would be premature to conclude that he is retiring early.

Previously, Rohit Sharma had already retired from Test and T20 International cricket. Nevertheless, his participation in ODIs continues, and he remains part of the Indian team's plans. Hosting a television show is a new aspect of his career, but it does not mean he has decided to give up ODI cricket.

'Family Full House' is a family entertainment show where Rohit Sharma will serve as the host. Although the full format of the program has not yet been revealed, its promotion has already attracted public attention. Promotional clips have shown Rohit's famous phrase again, spoken during his tenure, hinting at the possible inclusion of moments from his cricketing life and his vibrant personality in the show.

Following Rohit Sharma's television debut, questions about his future in cricket are inevitable, but the rules of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) contain no official restrictions prohibiting active international cricketers from hosting television shows.

Rohit Sharma is already targeting the 2027 ODI World Cup. Previously, he scored a magnificent century in an Indian ODI match at Lord's, becoming the first Indian batsman to achieve such a feat at this historic ground. This performance once again demonstrated his significance in ODI cricket.

Furthermore, Rohit Sharma plays for Mumbai Indians (MI) in the IPL (Indian Premier League). Thus, his career is currently showing growth in both the sports and entertainment spheres. The start of a new chapter on television is a major change in his career, but it cannot yet be considered a farewell to cricket, especially considering his plans for ODIs and the 2027 World Cup.

Selection of Indian squad players sparked controversy: S. Badri Nat questioned the inclusion of Washington Sundar and Nitish Kumar Reddy

Discussions regarding the player selection process began after the announcement of the Indian team's squad for the three-match T20I series against Afghanistan. Former Indian player S. Badri Nat raised questions concerning the inclusion of Washington Sundar and Nitish Kumar Reddy in the team. Furthermore, he indirectly pointed to head coach Gautam Gambhir.

Badri Nat shared his opinion on the selection, casting doubt on the consistent support received by Sundar. On his YouTube channel, he noted that it seems like the 'coach's favourite' has returned once again. Badri Nat advised Sundar to take advantage of this trust.

Badri Nat's implied hint was directed at the team management and, specifically, the coaching staff. However, he did not level direct accusations against Gautam Gambhir.

Badri Nat also spoke about Nitish Kumar Reddy, focusing his criticism on his bowling performance. He stated that he does not rate Nitish highly, and the reason for this is his bowling. In Badri Nat's view, Nitish is fundamentally a batter, not a all-rounder who should be highly valued for his bowling skills. Thus, Badri Nat's objection is more related to Nitish's bowling abilities than his batting.

Washington and Nitish were included in the Indian team's 15-man squad for the T20I matches against Afghanistan. The first match of the series is scheduled for September 13 in Delhi. This series takes place during a period when the Indian team is making several changes ahead of defending its gold medalist status at the Asian Games, which will be held in Japan at the end of this month.

The series against Afghanistan is also considered important for assessing the team composition and testing the players. Alongside the criticism of the selection, Badri Nat expressed satisfaction with the possible return of Jasprit Bumrah to the Indian team, calling it positive news. Bumrah has been included in the squad for the series against Afghanistan, but his participation depends on receiving clearance from the BCCI Centre of Excellence.

Additionally, Harshit Rana was included in the team. The participation of Bumrah, Washington Sundar, Nitish Kumar Reddy, and Harshit Rana in the series depends on passing the respective medical examinations. The first match of the three-match T20I series between India and Afghanistan will take place on September 13 in Delhi. In this series, the Indian team will be preparing for the Asian Games, while everyone will be watching for Bumrah's possible return. Nevertheless, the selection of players like Washington Sundar and Nitish Kumar Reddy has already caused heated debate before the start of the series.

Ankit Balian's family reacts to SPA representatives' statements regarding the Shamli incident

The family of Haryanvi singer Ankit Balian reacted sharply to comments made by politicians from the SPA party concerning the murder that occurred in Shamli. Ankit's father, Satyavir Singh Balian, stated that the opposition should not comment on his case since they are not affiliated with any party. He emphasized that the incident was not fabricated but was real, noting that he was present at the scene. According to him, Sumit and Mohit, who were killed during the incident, opened fire. Satyavir Singh expressed hope that Yogi's government would bring the incident to other culprits soon.

The reaction of Ankit's wife was also made known. After Ram Gopal Yadav from SPA stated that only murders and fake shootings with firearms are happening in the state, the family responded. Furthermore, SPA MP Awdaesh Prasad demanded a comprehensive investigation into this incident.

According to his wife, Sima, if her son had been in a similar situation on the street or in the gym, she would agree with such statements. She believes that shootings should be carried out against people who pose a threat to society, as such individuals cannot live in society.

Sima Balian also reported that she wants to meet with the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath, to discuss some matters concerning her family members, and she requested a meeting time with him.

Ankit's wife also pointed out to the SPA that politics should not revolve around gang fights, indicating that the opposition has other issues while their family lost a home. She confirmed that the incident was real and that 20 shots were fired, which could have led to police casualties. Regarding help from Rahul Gandhi, Ankit's wife stated that the state administration is in Yogi's hands, and she fully trusts him and is under his protection.

SPA leader Ram Gopal Yadav criticized the state government regarding the murder of Haryanvi singer Ankit Balian and the constant security concerns in the state. He stated that there is no law and order left in Uttar Pradesh, and that only murders and shootings in the context of fake shootouts are occurring.

Meanwhile, Awdaesh Prasad noted that provisions of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC), as well as the judicial system capable of delivering verdicts, exist for all culprits. He questioned what situation arose that necessitated shootouts and insisted on the need for a thorough investigation.
