Circle to Acquire Tazapay in $400 Million Deal

The global fintech company and USDC issuer Circle Internet Group announced the signing of a definitive agreement to acquire Tazapay, a Singapore-based provider of infrastructure for cross-border B2B payments. This deal aims to expand Circle's payment network in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region and emerging markets.

The transaction is expected to close in 2027, subject to standard closing conditions and regulatory approvals, including clearance from the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS).

Tazapay provides payment infrastructure to financial institutions and payment service providers, processing an annual payment volume exceeding $25 billion. The company collaborates with over 60 banks and fintech companies, and its local payout channels cover more than 100 markets. Stablecoins already account for about 60% of the total transaction volume.

The acquisition will allow Circle to strengthen its capabilities in initiating and completing cross-border payments via USDC, aiming to ensure near-instantaneous and 24/7 settlements.

Jeremy Allaire, co-founder, CEO, and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Circle, noted that 'stablecoin settlements are becoming the core infrastructure in the global economy, and combining USDC with Tazapay's top-tier banking relationships, local payout channels, and institutional client base will accelerate the global adoption of USDC.'

Circle stated that Tazapay has been a development partner for its Circle Payments Network since 2025, and both companies are focused on building infrastructure for global digital finance.

Irfan Ghanchi, Vice President of Payments at Circle, said the purchase will strengthen the company's presence in APAC and emerging markets, where demand for USDC dollar transactions is growing.

Rahul Singhal, co-founder and CEO of Tazapay, emphasized that the company was created to accelerate cross-border payments and reduce reliance on banking channels, which can be slower than what global commerce requires. He added, 'Circle has the dollar infrastructure in USDC and the regulatory status to push what we have built further than we could alone.'

Circle assured Tazapay's clients that they should not expect any changes to existing services, APIs, pricing, or customer support as a result of this deal.
