Kinetic has expanded its line of electric scooters by including a new model with a longer range. This new variant is called the Kinetic DX+ and is equipped with a 3.1 kWh battery.
This scooter is the longest-range in the company's portfolio. Previously, a main issue noted by consumers when Kinetic entered the e-scooter market was the limited range of their models.
After launching the DX and DX+ models in India, Kinetic's focus shifted to entering the global market. The company is working on exporting the Kinetic DX to seven countries, with these scooters being manufactured in India for subsequent shipment to the specified nations.
In connection with this, a new version has been added. The version with a 3.1 kWh battery increases the range due to the larger battery capacity. The claimed IDC range of this scooter is 132 kilometers, whereas the top variant previously used a 2.6 kWh battery. The base DX variant is also equipped with a 2.6 kWh battery.
In more expensive configurations, in addition to the increased battery and range, a new detuned engine is installed. This engine is capable of generating a peak power of 3.8 kW, unlike the engine in the old DX variant, which produced 4.78 kW. The reduction in power led to an increase in the scooter's range to 27 kilometers.
The new Kinetic DX+ variant offers two operating modes: the Turbo mode is absent. The Turbo mode is available even in the base scooter variant. The DX+ model with a 3.1 kWh battery is available in red, blue, black, gray, and white colors. It is equipped with features such as a metal body, LED lighting, an 8.8-inch LCD instrument cluster, a 37-liter trunk, Keyless Go system, password start, cruise control, and front disc brake.
The price of the base Kinetic DX variant with a 2.6 kWh battery is ₹1,11,499 off-showroom. The price of the Kinetic DX+ with a 2.6 kWh battery starts from ₹1,21,174. And the model with a 3.1 kWh battery costs ₹1,27,650 off-showroom.
Assuming the 3.1 kWh battery is charged at a rate of 10 rupees per unit, the estimated cost will be around 31 rupees, noting that these costs relate to charging from the domestic electrical grid.
