Two mountain peaks in Uzbekistan, which previously lacked an official name, have been assigned the names 'Muzqoya' and 'Qirqqiz'. These peaks are located in the Kashkadarya and Jizzakh regions, respectively.
The 'Muzqoya' peak is situated within the Ghissar State Reserve and reaches an altitude of 4,360 meters. The choice of this name is due to the presence of glaciers around the peak. It is worth noting that there are many peaks within the reserve itself, with heights ranging from 2,500 to 4,387 meters.
The second peak, named 'Qirqqiz', was located in the Bakhmal district. It is situated in the Turkestan Range, between the Guralashsay and Kulsuv Sais.
The assignment of these names occurred as part of a Cabinet of Ministers resolution. This document affects a total of 124 geographical objects across the country, including mountains, mountain ranges, passes, gorges, and caves. The names were either established for the first time or brought into compliance with the requirements of the state language.
Additionally, there was previous information that the first snow fell in the mountains of the Surkhandarya region, which was recorded in the high-altitude areas of the region in early September.
