Flipkart Minutes has already created a network of over 1000 dark stores distributed across approximately 130 cities. The goal of this is to deliver goods quickly to a larger number of consumers.
Furthermore, regarding the average order value, Minutes has approached Blinkit. Excluding smartphone purchases, the average order value for Flipkart Minutes is about 500–530 rupees, while for Blinkit it is about 518 rupees.
A greater advantage is observed when ordering mobile phones and electronics. Flipkart has significant experience in this category, which gives Minutes an advantage in purchasing smartphones and electronics.
The performance of older stores is improving. Each Flipkart Minutes store receives about 800–1000 orders daily, while older and mature stores reach from 1200 to 1500 orders daily. This demonstrates the rapid growth in demand for fast commerce applications. Approximately 60 percent of the demand comes from megacities, but now there is also growth in fast commerce in smaller towns.
In the future, Flipkart Minutes may increase the number of its dark stores. The company plans to open another 1000 dark stores by the middle of next year. This will allow it to increase its backend capacity. The increase in the number of dark stores will give the company the opportunity to reach more customers and fulfill the growing number of orders faster in the future.
