According to Vidura, there are mistakes and habits that lead to a person's failure

In the era of the Mahabharata, Mahatma Vidura is known for his foresight and wisdom. His teachings, known as Vidura Niti, remain relevant today because they contain deep knowledge about life, formulas for success, and mistakes that distance a person from achieving goals.

According to Mahatma Vidura's teachings, the main reason for a person's ruin and failure lies in their own habits and behavior. If these traits are not corrected in time, a person's life begins to be surrounded by crises. Below are the habits that lead to failure according to Vidura Niti:

Firstly, excessive arrogance (pride). Vidura Niti states that pride is humanity's greatest enemy. One who starts boasting about their knowledge, wealth, or status is doomed to fall. A proud person does not accept advice from others and does not learn from their mistakes, which ultimately leads them to loneliness and the abyss of failure.

Secondly, laziness and the habit of procrastinating (procrastination). Laziness is considered the most serious obstacle on the path to success. Mahatma Vidura believes that a person who does not use time effectively and constantly makes excuses will never attract the goddess Lakshmi and success.

Thirdly, unsuitable and bad company. It is well known that a person is defined by their surroundings. Vidura Niti warns that if a person associates with negative individuals prone to the wrong path or possessing vices, their downfall is inevitable. Bad company can destroy the moral qualities and future even of a good person, so one should stay away from those who lead to delusion.

The fourth point is excessive greed and avarice. Greed distorts a person's mind. One who seeks to earn by using shortcuts or appropriating others' property may experience temporary success but will then face enormous ruin. Avarice destroys a person's moral principles, causing social and mental decline.

Finally, the fifth point is sharp and uncontrolled speech. Words possess immense power. Vidura Niti says that one who thoughtlessly uses rude expressions increases the number of their enemies. People avoid such people, and in difficult times, no one comes to their aid.
