George Hatem spoke about the difficulties of the Red Army Uprising: 'I suffered only a tenth of it'

In 1933, Dr. George Hatem, known in China as Ma Haide, arrived in Shanghai to study diseases, not expecting that this trip would fundamentally change his life.

As this year marks the 90th anniversary of the victory of the Red Army Uprising, his son Zhou Yuim recalled the days Hatem spent with the Red Army during that historic time, as well as the motives that led him to make a certain choice.
