Season 20 is already facing criticism due to the participant selection process, and the first broadcast failed to meet viewer expectations, giving the impression that the creators deliberately lowered the program's standard by showing boring scenes.
This episode confirmed complaints about the casting. Mahi Vidh displayed authoritarian behavior, trying to pair people up, for example, between Amrapali Dubey and someone, although she was more interested in gossip about the divorce of Badshah and Ishiqui. Furthermore, many participants took part in vocal competitions, which was perceived as atypical for a reality show.
Aman Gandhi moved around the house, creating a sense of unease, while Arishfa Khan, who has 29 million followers, became upset because she was called a child. The show marked its 20th anniversary, and after watching this 'therapeutic' first day, discussing or writing about it seemed like a real nightmare.
Mari demonstrated her energetic and open personality, but the participants were uncomfortable with her snoring, which they mocked. Mari, in turn, stated that it was her personal matter and she didn't care how others dealt with the issue. She also expressed regret that she couldn't do anything for Manipur and its residents.
