In North India, precipitation activity is gradually decreasing, while the monsoon remains active in Eastern and North-Eastern India. A low-pressure area that formed southwest of Uttar Pradesh has moved into the central parts of this state. Furthermore, the weather is influenced by associated troughs, monsoon troughs, and western disturbances that have formed in the Himalayan region. Cyclonic circulations that have arisen around northeastern Bihar and Assam are also intensifying rainfall activity. Due to these weather systems, the focus of precipitation is likely to shift from North India to the East and North-East in the coming days.
Despite the rains observed in Delhi-NCR in recent days, it is predicted that precipitation activity will be lower on Tuesday than on Monday. The sky may remain partly cloudy, and light haze may form in some areas. The maximum temperature in Delhi may reach 34–35 degrees, and the minimum—25–27 degrees Celsius. The meteorological department warns that monsoon activity in Delhi may weaken further in the coming days, although cloud cover will persist, and localized light rains cannot be ruled out.
The weather in Uttar Pradesh will be active on Tuesday. Extensive and heavy rains are expected in the eastern parts of Uttar Pradesh, while short-term precipitation is possible in western Uttar Pradesh. According to IMD, the low-pressure area located southwest of Uttar Pradesh has reached the central parts of the state. Its influence may cause rain, thunderstorms, and strong winds in many parts of Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday. In the recent past, very heavy rains were recorded in some parts of western Uttar Pradesh, creating a risk of flooding in low-lying areas and localized floods.
Relatively dry weather is expected in other states of North India. Haryana is expected to experience heat with haze on Tuesday, with maximum temperatures potentially reaching around 36 degrees Celsius. Punjab is also forecast to have hot and dry weather in most areas, with a maximum temperature of about 37 degrees and a minimum of about 26 degrees Celsius. Rainfall activity in Rajasthan is currently weak. Most areas of the state are expected to be hot with haze, but light or moderate rains are possible in the districts of Bharatpur, Jaipur, and Kota. There is a possibility of the start of a new cycle of rains in eastern and southern Rajasthan around September 12–13.
The monsoon may remain active in Bihar on Tuesday. Extensive precipitation is expected in most parts of the state, and heavy rains accompanied by thunderstorms, storms, and lightning are expected in some areas. A situation of rain and flooding has already developed in several areas of Bihar, and Tuesday's rains could exacerbate the difficulties. Residents are advised to monitor local weather warnings.
Uttarakhand is expected to see light to moderate rain with thunderstorms in several districts on Tuesday. Rain or showers may fall in many districts, including Dehradun, Bageshwar, Pithoragarh, Nainital, Almora, Udham Singh Nagar, and Champawat. The weather in Himachal Pradesh may remain relatively normal, but light rain is possible in some areas after noon. Comfortable temperatures are forecasted, and no major weather warnings are expected for Tuesday.
The greatest impact of rains on Tuesday may be felt in parts of Eastern and Central India. IMD forecasts heavy rains in Eastern Madhya Pradesh, Eastern Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, West Bengal, Sikkim, and Odisha. Heavy rains, storms, and lightning are warned in some places in Eastern Madhya Pradesh. Light rains are possible in Western Madhya Pradesh. Chhattisgarh is expected to maintain activity of rains, thunderstorms, and lightning from September 8 to 11. Heavy rains are also possible in sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, with heavy precipitation forecast until September 9. Extensive rains are expected in Jharkhand from September 8 to 11.
In Odisha, clouds, thunderstorms, and rain are expected in several districts on Tuesday. The weather may be active from the morning, with intermittent rains and strong winds expected after noon. A warning for lightning has also been issued in some districts.
