According to reports, Windows 11 will start displaying the charge status of accessories both in the widget area, accessible via the Taskbar, and on the lock screen.
In these scenarios, the system will show the charge percentage of the laptop itself and subsequently do the same for devices connected to the machine, assigning a specific icon to each item.
Additionally, the widget will be fully compatible with dark mode, following the user's active visual preferences. However, it remains uncertain whether Windows 11 will automatically identify accessories with batteries or if the user will need to add them manually to the widget.
It has not yet been defined when or if this widget will be officially released in Windows 11. However, there is positive expectation, given that this could be one of the few truly useful native widgets of the operating system.
It is relevant to mention that Windows 11 already has a colored battery icon in the system tray, located on the right side of the Taskbar. This icon uses four colors, each with a specific meaning. The new widget, if confirmed, will complement this battery icon, not replace it.
