Francesco Farioli acknowledged that Manchester City, who will be the first opponent in the Champions League, is one of the main candidates to win this tournament. The Porto FC coach is participating in this major tournament for the first time.
During the press conference, Farioli analyzed the upcoming match, stating: 'We will face one of the main title contenders. (...) With Maresca, they are in a new cycle. We will do everything possible, knowing that every time we play at the Dragon, something special can happen.'
The clash with the English vice-champion marks the coach's debut in the Champions League at the age of 37, which, in his opinion, is a reason for pride and happens at the 'right time.'
The technical specialist admitted that recent reinforcements have not yet reached optimal physical condition, but noted the need to compensate for absent players.
Porto FC will meet Manchester City on Tuesday, starting at 8:00 PM, at the Dragon stadium in Porto. This match will take place as part of the first round of the Champions League group stage and will be officiated by Polish referee Szymon Marciniak.
