Music composer A.R. Rahman is preparing to present a very special track titled 'Asha Forever' in honor of the anniversary of the late great singer Asha Bhosle. Rahman recorded this track with Asha Ji even before her passing.
As part of this unique project, viewers will see a magnificent celebration created using artificial intelligence (AI) technology, which Rahman had planned while Asha was alive. This virtual ceremony will gather many major figures from Bollywood and South Indian cinema, including Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Kamal Haasan, Rajnikanth, and Karan Johar.
According to sources connected with the project, 'Asha Forever' was originally conceived as a grand celebration that was supposed to take place during Asha Bhosle's lifetime. Rahman wished to bring together titans of the entertainment industry on one stage in the presence of Asha Ji. The goal was not just to commemorate her songs but also to preserve memories and connections with artists from different eras.
However, after Asha Bhosle passed away, the plan could not be realized in its original form. Despite this, Rahman decided not to abandon the idea and insisted on its completion.
When it became impossible to gather all the stars together after Asha Ji's death, AI technology was utilized to maintain this idea. The team used this modern technology to recreate the main elements of the original concept. This means that all the celebrities featured in this tribute did not actually gather in one place but were included in this virtual ceremony using AI.
The creators emphasized that the use of AI in the project was done exclusively with the consent of all relevant stars. The sole purpose was to bring to life an idea that Asha herself could have seen with her own eyes. According to sources, Rahman always aimed to celebrate Asha Ji's life, her music, and her affection for people. Even after her passing, Rahman wanted this feeling not to disappear, so he realized this dream using technology.
Work on this special tribute took a long time. A.R. Rahman first mentioned the project in June by sharing a small clip of Asha Ji from the recording studio. At that time, he also stated that this tribute was planned during Asha Ji's lifetime, and she would have liked to see the entire project and feel this love herself.
It should be noted that Asha Bhosle, who enriched the world of music with her voice, passed away on April 12, 2026, at the age of 92.
