According to data from the Customs Committee of Uzbekistan, during the period from January to August 2026, Uzbekistan imported meat products worth 678.4 million US dollars. This figure demonstrates a 34.3% increase compared to the same period last year, when the import volume was 505.2 million dollars.
Beef accounted for the largest share of imports. The cost of its import increased by 30.0%, reaching 519.1 million US dollars from the previous 399.2 million dollars. At the same time, the physical volume of beef grew by 13.4%, increasing from 98.0 thousand tons to 111.1 thousand tons.
Chicken meat imports showed a cost increase of 24.1%, rising from 44.1 million dollars to 54.7 million dollars. The physical volume of chicken increased by 20.6%, amounting to 45.5 thousand tons compared to 37.7 thousand tons previously.
The most significant percentage increase in value was recorded for mutton imports, which grew by 77.3%, increasing from 27.0 million dollars to 47.9 million dollars. The physical volume of mutton increased by 29.6%, reaching 21.9 thousand tons from the previous figure of 16.9 thousand tons.
Imports of meat by-products increased by 14.3% in value, reaching 22.3 million dollars from 19.5 million dollars. The volume of these products grew by 12.5%, amounting to 23.0 thousand tons compared to 20.4 thousand tons.
Import of canned meat increased by 27.2%, rising from 9.3 million dollars to 11.9 million dollars. The volume of canned products increased by 9.3%, reaching 3.0 thousand tons from 2.7 thousand tons.
The sharpest relative growth was observed in duck meat imports. Its cost increased almost 54 times, rising from 0.17 million dollars to 9.3 million dollars. The physical volume of duck meat increased almost 74 times, reaching 5,684.6 tons from 77.0 tons.
Imports of Turkish meat increased 9.2 times in value, rising from 0.7 million dollars to 6.8 million dollars. Meanwhile, the volume increased 5.5 times, amounting to 2,534.8 tons compared to 460.9 tons.
Sausage imports increased by 27.0% in value, reaching 4.8 million dollars from 3.8 million dollars. The volume of sausages grew by 17.9%, amounting to 1.8 thousand tons compared to 1.5 thousand tons.
Pork imports increased by 65.5%, reaching 1.11 million dollars from 0.67 million dollars. The physical volume of pork grew by 84.6%, amounting to 370.0 tons from the previous figure of 200.4 tons.
Horse meat imports remained almost unchanged in value at 0.77 million dollars, similar to the previous year. However, the physical volume of this meat decreased by 20.1%, falling from 235.9 tons to 188.5 tons.
Imports of smoked and salted meat increased in value from 0.5 thousand to 1.6 thousand dollars, and the volume increased from 50.3 kilograms to 154.5 kilograms.
In 2026, goose meat imports were recorded, which were not present in the same period last year; its volume was 102.4 kilograms worth 0.8 thousand dollars.
It is noted that imports of meat from other animals were not recorded in either of the two periods under consideration.
