According to data from the Uzbekistan Customs Committee, between January and August 2026, Uzbekistan imported petroleum products and oil worth $1.044 billion USD. This figure demonstrates a 15.7% increase compared to the same period last year, when the import volume was $902.5 million USD.
Gasoline showed the largest increase in value among the main imported petroleum products. Its import increased by 48.6%, reaching $437.4 million USD from the previous $294.3 million USD. At the same time, the physical volume of gasoline grew by 41.2%, increasing from 511.0 million liters to 721.5 million liters.
The import of liquefied petroleum gas (propane) also significantly increased. The value indicator rose by 248.0%, rising from $35.7 million USD to $124.3 million USD. The physical volume of propane increased by 138.9%, amounting to 209.6 thousand tons compared to 87.7 thousand tons previously.
The import of other liquid fuels increased by 113.6% in value, reaching $50.5 million USD compared to $23.7 million USD. The physical volume of these fuels grew by 141.1%, increasing from 37.0 thousand tons to 89.3 thousand tons.
Regarding lubricants, including engine and transmission oils, imports grew by 16.4% in value, amounting to $133.7 million USD with an increase in volume of 15.9%—from 65.2 thousand tons to 75.6 thousand tons.
Meanwhile, there was a decrease in the import of several other types of fuel. Diesel fuel imports decreased by 12.3% in value, falling from $204.7 million USD to $179.5 million USD. The physical volume of diesel fuel decreased by 19.7%, reducing from 258.5 thousand tons to 207.5 thousand tons.
Imports of other light distillates decreased by 16.2%, falling from $81.5 million USD to $68.3 million USD, and the physical volume dropped by 19.6%—from 140.9 thousand tons to 113.3 thousand tons.
Kerosene imports decreased by 15.3% in value, amounting to $44.8 million USD compared to $52.9 million USD. The physical volume of kerosene decreased by 25.4%, reducing from 53.9 thousand tons to 40.2 thousand tons.
The sharpest drop was recorded in the import of fuel oil, whose cost fell by 94.2%, decreasing from $94.8 million USD to $5.5 million USD. The volume of fuel oil decreased by 92.0%, reducing from 236.6 thousand tons to 19.0 thousand tons.
Additionally, imports of other petroleum products that were not recorded in 2025 amounted to 21 kilograms worth $0.9 thousand USD in 2026.
