BSNL added 68,560 new users in Haryana, surpassing Jio

The state-owned telecommunications company Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) offers various services at low prices, allowing ordinary people to use good connectivity for a small amount of money.

According to the latest report from India's telecom regulatory body (TRAI), in July 2026, BSNL surpassed other private telecom companies in Haryana by attracting the largest number of new subscribers.

How BSNL's user base grew in Haryana

BSNL's user count was 46,49,224 in June 2026. By the end of July 2026, this figure increased to 47,17,784. Thus, 68,560 new mobile subscribers joined BSNL in July, and BSNL took the leading position in attracting new users in Haryana.

Why Jio fell behind?

Despite Jio having the largest number of mobile users nationwide, in Haryana during July, the company lagged behind BSNL in terms of new customers acquired. According to the report, Jio's mobile subscriber count grew from 82,70,811 to 83,08,319, meaning that only 37,508 new users joined Jio in July 2026.

The number of Airtel subscribers in Haryana also increased. Users of this company grew from 79,38,962 to 79,64,101, resulting in the attraction of 25,139 new users in July 2026. Nevertheless, Airtel also significantly trailed BSNL in terms of new customer acquisition.

The most interesting question is why people are so actively connecting to BSNL. One of the main reasons may be the inexpensive tariff plans. Amidst the expensive plans of private companies, BSNL provides an affordable option to many users. Furthermore, the company is constantly expanding its 4G network coverage and improving its connectivity in many areas. BSNL also has a strong presence in rural areas and small towns, making it an attractive choice for those looking for low-cost mobile service.
