The snowfall season has begun in the mountains of Surkhandarya. The first autumn snow was recorded in the 'Yukori Tupalang' national nature park in the high-altitude Tamshush region.
The snowfall occurred on September 4 in the Tamshush section, which is located in the high-altitude zone of the park. The regional department of ecology and climate change reported that the cause of this phenomenon was a noticeable drop in temperature in the mountainous area.
Experts note that the climate in mountain regions can vary greatly even over short distances. The nature of precipitation changes with increasing altitude, allowing snow to fall where warmer weather persists in lower areas.
Similar weather conditions were observed in the Kashkadarya region on September 4. Following a sharp cold snap, a snow cover appeared in the territory of the 'Gissar' ('Hisor') state reserve.
