Iran Women's Football Coach Jafari Insists on Youth Development

The head coach of the Iranian women's national football team, Marzieh Jafari, emphasized the importance of providing more opportunities for young and promising players to join the national squad in order to build a stronger collective for the future.

A six-day training camp is planned in Tehran, Iran, during the upcoming FIFA international window, which will allow Jafari and her coaching staff to assess both experienced athletes and rising talents.

Jafari stated: 'We are trying to evaluate both experienced and young players and determine the squad we want to build. Our focus is not only on the present but also on the future. We aim to make the national team younger and create a solid foundation for many years to come.'

The coach added that about five of the six days of the planned camp will be dedicated to technical work, allowing the coaching staff sufficient time to thoroughly evaluate new players alongside established team members.

'One of our main goals is youth development,' Jafari noted. 'Players who possess the ability and potential to play for the national team must be given a chance to be noticed and become part of the national team system.'

Jafari also stressed the need to create a strong second team (B team) as a pathway for talented athletes to transition into the main squad. She emphasized: 'I have insisted that we need a strong second team as a foundation for the main national team. The goal is to integrate talented players into this system and, through careful planning, form a strong reserve for the future.'

The coach also expressed gratitude to local clubs for their cooperation with the national team, noting that their support is critical for conducting training camps and implementing team preparation plans.

Jafari reported that the players reacted positively to the current camp and demonstrated high motivation during training. In addition to tactical and technical preparation, the coaching staff is focusing on physical fitness, carefully monitoring workload to minimize the risk of injury.

In conclusion, Jafari stated: 'All our focus is on building a strong national team. We want a team that can achieve current goals while remaining prepared for the future.'
