Terrisha Govender, a 33-year-old mother from Isipingo Beach in Durban, is one of six South Africans who went missing after devastating flash floods hit the border of Nepal and Tibet on August 26, 2026.
Linda Govender, the mother of the missing South African pilgrim Terrisha Govender, reports that she is personally traveling through villages and along riverbanks in Nepal, appealing to Sadhguru and the Isha Foundation for urgent assistance.
In a post on Facebook last night, Govender stated that while the Foundation's leadership continues public appearances, advertising campaigns, and regular activities, she remains in Nepal searching for her daughter, Terrisha.
She recounted moving from one village to another, following the river, speaking with local residents, and seeking any information, performing the work a mother should do when her child is absent.
Govender directly challenged Sadhguru: 'Where are you? Where is the urgency? Where is the visible support for the missing? Where is the support for families living in uncertainty every minute about the whereabouts of their loved ones?'
She emphasized that people trusted the Isha Foundation, and all 77 families are in a state of shock because they traveled believing they were under the protection of a reliable organization. However, families are now forced to ask questions that require answers.
Govender noted that observing the activity on the Isha Foundation's social media, she only sees advertisements, but not the same energy directed towards families desperately searching for their missing relatives, which she finds extremely painful to witness.
She stated that although the Isha Foundation can continue promoting Sadhguru, she cannot simply stop her life and move on as usual. 'I am a mother. My daughter is missing. My entire world is focused on finding Terrisha. I don't need another photo, another inspirational quote, another message of faith. I need action,' said Govender.
Govender called on the organization to use its resources, influence, and connections to aid in search operations and to respond to any emerging questions. She appealed to Sadhguru: 'Don't assume the worst; I am a mother. I have prayers and hope. If families need support, stand by them.'
She pleaded that mothers like her should not be left wandering through villages and searching along rivers while the organization acts as if nothing has happened. Govender addressed Sadhguru directly: 'Please, don't tell us to be strong while leaving us to bear this burden alone. You built an organization on trust. Now is the time to show families what that trust truly means.'
Govender promised that she will not leave, will continue searching for Terrisha, asking questions, and advocating for the missing, insisting that families should not be forgotten, as she is fighting not for publicity, but for her daughter, and will not remain silent until Terrisha is found.
