In the village of Molyaheri, located in the Agar-Malwa district, Nalheda Tehsil, Madhya Pradesh state, residents face serious problems due to the lack of basic amenities. The village has neither an organized cemetery nor a permanent shelter for conducting funerals.
The situation is so dire that during the rains, residents have to conduct burials using temporary measures. Furthermore, the absence of a proper road to the burial site makes the final journey extremely difficult, as processions are forced to pass through sewage ditches.
When a death occurs in the village of Molyaheri, relatives have to struggle with difficulties even when conducting the funeral. The lack of a full-fledged cemetery and a stationary shelter exacerbates the situation during the rainy season. Recently, residents had to hold funerals under a temporary shelter in the middle of the rain, and the road to the burial site was impassable.
Transporting the body to the burial site becomes a serious ordeal for relatives and local residents. Village residents state that they have repeatedly appealed to the local administration, responsible officials, and people's representatives demanding the construction of a cemetery, a shelter, and an asphalted road. However, each time they were only given promises, and no real action was taken.
Expressing indignation, residents emphasized that a road and an organized cemetery are vital conditions for any village. They consider it extremely shameful that a person is forced to experience humiliation even at the moment of farewell. Residents warned that if the problem is not permanently resolved soon, they will be forced to start active protest actions.
