The Kaizer Chiefs team maintained its unbeaten streak in the Betway Premiership season by defeating Siwelele FC 3-2 at Dobsonville Stadium on Sunday.

Kaizer Chiefs initially created a threat, but the breakthrough came in the 30th minute thanks to Mfundu Vilakazi. His goal was the first of the season where he capitalized on a perfectly timed pass from Lebogang Maboe, who bypassed Siwelele's high defensive line, allowing Vilakazi to calmly send the ball past the goalkeeper from a distance.

An additional advantage was gained in the 65th minute when Vandile Duba scored the second goal. The 22-year-old player demonstrated excellent reaction time, heading a cross from Mduduzi Shabalala with his heel, which disoriented both the goalkeeper and defenders, securing his third goal of the campaign.

Siwelele FC responded three minutes later when Afife Baliti reduced the deficit after a deflected shot that beat Brandon Petersen. However, the visitors' two-goal lead was restored in the 77th minute, although Chiefs managed this due to luck.

Fayez Abraham, who came on as a substitute, hit the post from a free kick, after which the ball rebounded to the head of the goalkeeper Khulu and went into the net as an own goal. Michelle N'Guessan scored another goal for the visitors in added time, but could not deprive Amakhosi of three points. Chiefs ended the match, preserving their undefeated record.

Next Saturday, Amakhosi will play against Polokwane City, while Siwelele will play mid-week against Mamelodi Sundowns.
