The Bali District Director, Mangala Prasad Singh, personally visited the home of 19-year-old Jyoti, who has a disability in both legs and resides in Mahulanpar village, Sikandarpur district, Bali district. Due to difficulties traveling to school, her education was interrupted after the eighth grade.
Upon learning about Jyoti's problems, the District Director (DM) came to her home on Sunday to meet with her family and learn about her difficulties. He presented Jyoti with a disability certificate and an electric tricycle.
Jyoti shared that she had completed the eighth grade but could not continue her studies due to mobility issues and inconvenience. She told the director about her dream of becoming a teacher after completing her education. Joy appeared on her face after receiving the tricycle, and she expressed hope that she could now easily get to school and resume her studies.
Considering Jyoti's diligence and desire to study, the District Director instructed the relevant officials to ensure her enrollment in school. This paved the way for the resumption of Jyoti's long-suspended education. The family also expressed gratitude for the director's initiative.
This is not the first instance where the Bali District Director has taken steps to address the problems of disabled children. A few days ago, help was provided to Ragini, a disabled child from Ranipur Digeda village, located in the Manier development block. Ragini has a disability in one leg and previously attended school using that leg.
After Ragini's problem became known, the District Director also provided her with a tricycle. The provision of an electric tricycle to Jyoti by Mangala Prasad Singh is another example. This local initiative is highly appreciated, and efforts to include disabled children in the education system in both cases are considered an important step.
