Mamelodi Sundowns managed to secure a tight 2-1 victory over Golden Arrows at King Zwelinatini Stadium on Sunday. Although Sundowns scored late, they secured three points.

Initially, Siya Ndlovu opened the scoring for Sundowns. However, Junior Dion managed to equalize for Golden Arrows, making the match finale very tense in Umlazi.
When it seemed the match would end in a draw, Tebogo Mokoele scored the decisive goal, securing all three points for the defending champions. This victory allowed Sundowns to increase their lead over Orlando Pirates by three points in the Betway Premier League table.
Golden Arrows threatened to frustrate Sundowns for a long time, but the visitors demonstrated their skill at crucial moments. Ndlovu's goal in the 14th minute gave Sundowns an early advantage, but Arrows refused to let the guests settle and continued to create attacking threats.
Dion eventually scored the equalizer for the home side in the 76th minute, giving the home team hope of earning a valuable point against the league leaders.
Nevertheless, Sundowns continued to push for the win as the match neared its end. Their persistence was rewarded when Mokoele created the decisive moment late in the game, sending the visitors to Pretoria with maximum points thanks to a goal in the 88th minute.
For Arrows, this was another narrow defeat to Sundowns after they managed to challenge the champions in all recent MTN8 tournament encounters. Now Sundowns will focus on maintaining their top position when they face Sivulele FC midweek. Arrows will have a full week to rest, recover, and correct mistakes before playing Sivulele on Sunday.
