The defender of Pakhtakor Tashkent, Muhammadrasul Abdumajidov, will continue his career at the French club Brest, joining the team on January 1st, according to Pakhtakor's head coach Kamoliddin Tajiev.
According to the coach, a contract has already been signed between the parties with the player. Nevertheless, Abdumajidov decided to remain at Pakhtakor until the end of the current period to help the team. Tajiev noted that Muhammadrasul himself wished to stay and assist the collective.
Previously, the French club had shown interest in the 22-year-old Pakhtakor defender. At the end of August, it was reported that Brest wanted to sign the player on a one-year loan with an option for subsequent purchase, but the Tashkent club rejected such a transfer.
The head coach of Pakhtakor also mentioned that an earlier offer could have changed the situation. He suggested that if the relevant letter had arrived sooner, the club might have agreed to release the player to France. As an example, Abdumajidov cited Muhammadali Urinboev, who moved from the Tashkent club to a Belgian team last year.
