A controversy arose after a video of an alleged procedure taking place in a school office went viral on social media. Upon the public release of this video, the education department took cognizance, sought an explanation, and took action against the in-charge principal, considering the matter serious.
This incident is related to the Muraul block of Muzaffarpur district. A video surfaced of Gyan Prakash, the in-charge principal of the Government Recognized Shivnandan Higher Secondary School, allegedly performing a 'purification' process in his office. This video reached the officials of the education department after spreading on social media.
According to the information received, this video came to the attention of the education department on September 4, after which the matter gained momentum. Kumar Arvind Sinha, District Education Officer of Muzaffarpur, took cognizance of the matter and demanded an explanation from the in-charge principal. In the preliminary investigation, the education department considered this entire incident a serious issue related to the conduct and duties of a government employee.
The order issued by the District Education Officer took the alleged action of the in-charge principal extremely seriously. According to the order, this act was classified under gross indiscipline and negligence towards one's duties. The department argues that such activities can negatively affect the educational environment of the school, and it also violates the provisions of the government servant conduct rules.
As a result of these allegations, the in-charge principal Gyan Prakash has been suspended with immediate effect. The action is not limited to suspension; the education department has also initiated a departmental inquiry against him. The department will determine further action based on the results of the investigation. Currently, Gyan Prakash is suspended and the departmental inquiry is ongoing.
