The design team described the Yarumos Apartment / Trópico Arquitectura as a residence conceived for a young couple who prioritizes financial resource optimization and takes advantage of the spatial particularities of the structure.
This home is located in the city of Medellín and is distributed over two floors. The ground floor houses the areas designated for social interaction and services, while the second floor contains the master suite, which includes a bathroom and closet.
The space was planned in the 'loft' style, which implies the removal of dividing walls, resulting in a free and open environment. The concrete structure itself was exposed and transformed into the focal point of the design, establishing a dialogue with the cast-in-place concrete floor and the fixed furniture made from the same material.
Additionally, on the second floor, a suspended component with a curved shape was incorporated, intended to accommodate the closet and bathroom, ensuring that the perception of the space's amplitude was not compromised.
