The regional government of Ceuta classified the decision by the executive led by Pedro Sánchez to install several tents near the Poniente Quay as a 'serious error'. This measure aimed to offer over a thousand spots to receive migrants who arrived on July 30th and remain homeless.
The administration of Ceuta argued that such an action represents a serious problem, given that the port is considered essential infrastructure, according to available reports.
Additionally, the executive led by Juan Jesús Vivas stated that the speed employed in seeking accommodation for the migrants should be directed towards their repatriation. According to this executive, the return of individuals who came from Morocco must be treated as a top priority.
Local authorities reinforced that the return of these migrants constitutes the only way for Ceuta to restore its normal situation.
