Coach Filipe Coelho stated that the club Casa Pia intends to replicate the dominance demonstrated in the last match during their visit to Vitória de Guimarães in the fifth round of the I Liga football league. He noted that the average quality level of the club's squad has increased.
Players who joined the team at the end of the transfer window include Brazilian central defender Felipe Silva and Belgian winger Mohamed Salah. However, only the second player is ready to play, and Filipe Coelho believes that the club has strengthened 'in the best way'.
Coelho emphasized that if the shots that hit the post in the last match had gone into the net, the situation could have been different. He added: 'Statistics say little, and the only indicator that brings points is goals, but we feel that we could be in a different position in the table today. The time for goals and points will come. The starting lineup will be the strongest, knowing that we will have more comfort today. Those who start, and those on the bench, will surely understand that thanks to rotation, the average level of the team will be higher.'
Despite the closure of the summer transfer market in Portugal, goalkeeper Patrick Sekeira and French winger Jeremy Livolant remain players with an uncertain future. A possible solution could be participation in championships where the market is still open.
The technical director reported: 'Patrick trains with the team from the beginning. The markets are still open, and this remains a priority. There will be no problems if these markets close and he stays with us. Livolant received a disciplinary sanction; he has already apologized to the group, but is looking for other opportunities. The club continues to consider these processes individually.'
Casa Pia, currently in last place in the standings without any points or goals, will play away against Vitória de Guimarães, which is in 12th place, on Sunday at 18:00 at the D.
